When talking about Mumbai, one of the first things that comes to mind is the film industry. Mumbai is the epicenter of filmmaking. It is the birthplace of Indian cinema and home to Hindi cinema, often known as Bollywood and formerly as Bombay cinema - one of the largest centers of film production in the world. Mumbai is a city with a true galaxy of stars where Bollywood reigns supreme. Bollywood is also the reason why so many aspirants flock from different parts of the country to this metropolis every year in order to fulfill their dreams.

On this Mumbai Bollywood City Tour, we take you around the city from the mansions of movie icons and big film stars to the famous and prime film shooting locations which have featured numerous times on the silver screen.

ITINERARY

  • Your tour will begin with a pick-up from your hotel within Mumbai city limits at your specified time slot.
  • You will be driven past Lokhandwala Complex towards Juhu to spot some known houses like YRF Studios, Amitabh Bachchan’s House Jalsa, etc. Satiate your appetite for street food at the famous Juhu Beach which is a sought-after destination for shooting films. The sandy stretch features stalls with every street food you can expect to eat in Mumbai. Don’t miss out on the ice golas.
  • Next proceed towards the Khans of Bollywood, while crossing Mumbai’s Famous Bandra Linking Road and Mehboob Studio, where you can sit and enjoy the sea-facing view of Shahrukh Khan’s House Mannat and Salman Khan’s House Galaxy Apartments.
  • As we move ahead enjoy the best view of Mumbai on the go from the Bandra-Worli Sea Link and turn your cameras for breathtaking views of the Haji Ali Dargah. This is one dargah that has been shown in numerous Bollywood movies. If you plan on visiting the dargah, please ensure that you are dressed appropriately. Ensure that you are not wearing any clothing which exposes your shoulders or knees. If possible, do carry a scarf too.
  • Our next stop is the National Museum of Indian Cinema. The Museum showcases the history of India Cinema and has ample artefacts, digital elements including kiosks, interactive digital screens, information based screen interfaces, etc. The Museum is open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday (11:00 am to 6:00 pm) and is closed on Mondays and Public Holidays.
  • Next drive past Girgaum Chowpatty and Marine Drive. Maybe make a quick stop for a cup of tea or just sit at the promenade with your legs dangling and gaze at the sea. Be it Ranbir Kapoor romancing Konkana Sen Sharma in Wake Up Sid, or Mithun Chakraborty taking a long walk in Guru, every single person from across the globe knows what Marine Drive really looks like, all because of the endless times it has been shot at.
  • After soaking in the sea breeze, you will be driven to the only Town Hall Present in Mumbai since 1830. The Town Hall is a heritage building, located deep in the city’s historic Fort area, shaped by colonial geography, architecture, and sculpture. The building has been used in popular films like OK Jaanu, Shootout at Lokhandwala, Dev, and Bombay.
  • Your final stop will be the Gateway of India, one of Mumbai's most recognizable attractions that needs no introduction. You can up your Bollywood quotient by getting some pigeon-feeding shots with your bae.
